Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I told my son,Patrick, that it was St. Patrick's Day today and , of course, what HE heard was, "It's Patrick's day!" It took a bit of explaining that it was not actually his day, but a day in honor of Saint Patrick who lived a long time ago in Ireland. Besides, I hate to break it to the kid, but he's NO saint!

So, in honor of the day, here is my son, Patrick, in his lucky shirt. Do you know why the 3 leaf shamrock is such an important symbol associated with this day? It is because the Patrick that this day is named after used the 3 leaf shamrock to explain God to the people of Ireland. God is a Triune God which means he is three in one. There is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. They are all distinct, but yet all ONE God just as the leaves of the shamrock are all distinct, but yet all part of the one shamrock. Cool, huh!
