Personally, I think a lot of these would be good anytime; not just summer. If you are looking for ideas for things to do with the kids, here's a great list.

More Claymation

My daughter, Anna, has been really busy creating these little claymation shorts. She has so much fun with this! Our county 4-H fair is this week and she entered a video of her claymations into the "Do Your Own Thing" division and received a Blue ribbon as well as an Honor Class ribbon. Very cool!

Both of my older two girls entered projects and did very well. Elizabeth aso got Reserve Grand Champion for one of her photos. I am so proud of both of them!

Peek-A-Boo

I just had a minute, but I wanted to share this scrapbook page. I did this with the Sweet Innocence Page Pak from Cottage Arts by Doris Castle. This page is featured on the Digital Tips pages at Cottage Arts. There is a great tutorial that shows you how to use the page curl template included in this set. I used it here on the bottom of the page. I love how realistic it looks! It is just like I have a torn, curled piece of paper.
The photo is of Rachel sitting on the sidelines of one of Patrick's soccer games. I love how she is hiding her eyes as well as her sweet little toes in the grass.
LOTS have been going on, but my day is getting away from me and I have bunches left to do so I will have to share more later! Have a great day!

Kid Quotes

My daughter, Abi (3 years old), came downstairs this morning and reported to me that:

"Elizabeth is annoying my brain."

Where does she get this stuff? She gave me a chuckle. And I was quite pleased to see her fully clothed. Usually she gets up before anyone else, strips off her nightgown and pull-up (which she still insists on wearing even though she doesn't need them) and marches downstairs completely naked and announces that she can't find any clothes. Now on rare occasions I actually remember to lay out some clothes for her in an attempt tp avoid her streaking. On these days she usually marches downstairs with clothes in hand still completely naked and informs me she needs help [imagine whiney voice here]. I suppose Elizabeth was annoying her brain because she actually made sure she was dressed today!

Words of Wisdom

Alot is plenty.

Hiding under the counter will not make your vegetables go away.

These are little tidbits of wisdom that I imparted to my children today. Ain't motherhood fun? And just for the record, my son did eat his sugar snap pea after I forced him to stop hiding from it.

Little Lizard Chef - More Claymation

I hope you are not getting tired of the claymation. Anna created another video short this afternoon. This time it is about a little lizard who creates some tasty treats.

Claymation

My daughter, Anna, has decided to try her hand at claymation. The video posted below is her very first one. It was created with a camera on a tripod, a blob of white clay, and her imagination. We put the photos that she took together into a video to animate it. This one was done at night on the the same kitchen counter with a little lamp for light. I think they are really cute and I hope she keeps using her creativity this way!

Cutest Baby in the World

Naw, I'm not prejudiced or anything! [tee hee]
This sweet photo caught my eye as I was downloading pictures off my memory card and I couldn't resist posting it. I love the funny little tongue and those wonderful blue eyes. Hey, I'm her mom - I'm supposed to think she is the cutest baby in the world!

Keep watching the blog. If I can get it to work I have something fun I'll be posting a little later.

How come I look so fat when I feel so like I am stretched so thin?

Yes, lately I have been feeling like life is kicking my butt. I have come to to sad realization that I can't do all that I am trying to do. The question is what do I prune from my life. I know what I really want to get rid of and I don't know if it is possible (no, I am not considering selling my kids on eBay ;-) Then there are things that I am truly passionate about that I have been unable to devote any time to. It makes me kinda sad. So, I am praying that God will show me the answer.

Amidst all of our busy-ness, there HAS been some fun, too. Note the photo of the "Happy Campers." We had the privilege of camping with our very dear friends. Our family has not been camping since we had only one child. Let's just say it was a little different this time! (That is our clan of seven on the left side of the photo) We found a quaint little rustic cabin in the woods right next to our friends AND a playground. We all had a blast! Makes me want to camp again!
